Changes

If you would like to make changes to your existing licence, you will be required to complete and submit a Business Licence Information Change Form [PDF - 125 KB] with payment of the appropriate fee (see below). Changes include any amendments to a business name, location, ownership, mailing address, emergency contact or classification.

Zoning

All business must comply with The City's Zoning Bylaw and Official Community Plan in order to be issued a Business License. Depending on the Zoning of the proposed location, your proposed business may or may not be permitted or may require special approvals or permits. To find out what land use restrictions apply to a proposed location, inquire in person at the Planning Department, 2nd Floor 171 Main Street between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Building

A file review will be completed by a Building Inspector to ensure there are no outstanding issues associated with the property. Once this is completed you will be contacted to set up an inspection, which will be attended by a Building Inspector.

Licence

It may be necessary to obtain other approvals from the Police, Fire or Health Departments. Staff will assist you with this process.

Change of Business Ownership

Cost: $22.00

Transfer form must be completed by both the existing and the new business owner.

No cost - $0.00

Change of Emergency Contact

No cost - $0.00
