Transfers

If you would like to take over an existing business, you will be required to complete and submit a Business Licence Information Change Form [PDF - 125 KB] with payment of the appropriate fee to transfer an existing licence to your name. Home-based business licenses are not transferable.

To transfer a Business Licence, the following criteria must be met:

  • The new business taking over must be for the same type of business that the previous business was licensed as (e.g., Restaurant to a Restaurant)
  • Transfer form must be completed by both the existing and the new business owner
  • Various approvals may still be required by the Police, Fire and/or Health Departments
  • Transfer fee is $22.00
