Financial Assistance
Recreation should be available to everyone, and with that premise in mind, the following financial assistance programs are available to residents of the South Okanagan.
Children's Fitness Tax Credit
The Federal Government created the Children's Fitness Tax Credit to cover eligible registration fees of up to $500 for enrolment in a physical activity program. The purpose of this credit is to facilitate access by children and youth to physical activity and recreation programs, as a means of helping them stay active and healthy.

LIFE Program (Leisure Involvement for Everyone)
LIFE is designed to provide free and low cost recreation opportunities through the Penticton Community Centre to residents of Penticton on a limited family income.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program
Funding is available to provide financial assistance for children and youth in the South Okanagan (ages 4-18 years) for recreation programs, activities, leagues, sports, etc. with a physical component. This is for residents of the South Okanagan only. Visit the Canadian Tire Jumpstart website for more information.

KidSport Penticton
Funding is available to provide assistance for children ages 6-18 to participate in Sport BC recognized leagues and programs (Residents of Penticton, Kaleden, Naramata and the Penticton Indian Band). The KidSport Penticton program is sustained by contributions from individual and corporate sponsors.
South Okanagan Sunshine Fund
Funding is available through theSouth Okanagan's Children's Charityto provide financial assistance for children in the South Okanagan (3-12 years) for both half day and full day camperships for City of Penticton programs.
