Backflow Prevention

Backflow preventers are installed to protect our drinking water from contamination due to improperly connected fixtures, irrigation systems, fire suppression systems, and more. Many of the checks and balances put into place include annually testing these backflow preventers.

Please be advised the Cross Connection Program addresses actual or potential backflow threats, including administering a program ensuring backflow preventers are tested annually. Bylaw 2010-64 states that failure to test a backflow preventer and provide test results can result in fines.
