New Marine Rescue Units arrive in Penticton

Penticton –  The City of Penticton invites media and the public to Skaha Marina on Friday August 26th, 2016 at 3:00pm to welcome the arrival of the City`s new Marine Rescue Units.

The additions to the Penticton Fire Department`s fleet come after an assessment of marine rescue needs. The new, fast response watercrafts will better serve the rescue response needs in a City between two lakes. The new units will be housed and in use at Skaha Lake allowing the Department`s existing water craft to permanently serve Okanagan Lake.

Penticton Fire Department will waste no time in putting the new crafts in service. They will be active for the busy Challenge Penticton weekend.

Media and the public are encouraged to join the Penticton Fire Department as we get these new assets in the water this Friday. Questions and photos are welcomed on the day.
