The City of Penticton Electric Utility exists to enhance the lifestyle within the community by providing safe,
reliable electrical services.
| Functions Performed By The Utility
- To design, install, operate and maintain
the City's electrical power distribution system.
- To provide electrical service to residential,
commercial and industrial customers within our service area.
- To provide engineering design and construction
for alterations and extensions made to the electrical utility
system.
- To provide revenue metering equipment and
meter replacement when due for test under the requirements of
Measurement Canada.

Functions Performed For Departments Or Divisions of the City of Penticton
- To provide assistance to the Collection Division
of the Treasury Department with turn-ons, turn-offs and cut-offs of
electrical service.
- To provide assistance to the Works Division of
the Public Works Department in the specification, design, layout, installation
and maintenance of street lighting and approval of consultant's final
drawings.
- To provide assistance to the Works Division of
the Public Works Department in the specification, design, layout, installation
and maintenance of traffic control systems and equipment and approval
of consultant's final drawings.
- To provide assistance to the Works Division of
the Public Works Department in the specification, installation and maintenance
of stationary and mobile radio equipment within the city.
Recent Highlights
- Continue system voltage conversion.
- Convert the Waterford Avenue Substation to the
new voltage.
- Add enhancements to the SCADA system.
