Want to learn more about Penticton's past or bring the family down for a day of fun hands-on activities? The Penticton Museum & Archives offers a wide variety of educational programs throughout the year for adults and children, including school groups.

- The Brown Bag Lecture Series is held every Tuesday at lunchtime (noon to 1pm) from September to April. Each week a guest lecturer speaks about a subject in their area of expertise. Topics range from local history to travel, culture, and natural history. Everyone is welcome to bring their lunches with them, and coffee, tea, and confections are provided. Admission is by donation.
- Remembrance Week takes place each November during the week leading up to Remembrance Day, and consists of a series of film presentations and lectures by local veterans and historians on topics of Canadian military history. Admission is by donation.
- Temporary Exhibit presentations and events take place periodically in conjunction with the opening of new temporary exhibits in the R.N. Atkinson Gallery. These events will be announced during the year.
- Friends of the Museum social events are open to members of the Friends of the Penticton Museum Society, which the public is invited to join. These events include dinners, picnics, and group trips to other museums.
- The Valentine’s Tea is a formal tea put on by the Friends of the Penticton Museum Society every February and open to the public.
- Curator Kids is an interactive drop-in kids program that takes place every second and fourth Saturday of the month from September to June and runs from 1-3pm. Try your hand at archaeology, build a miniature volcano, launch water rockets, or live a day in the life of Penticton’s early settlers – be a Curator Kid!
