Parks & Monthly Special Events

The Parks Department keeps Penticton beautiful by mainting variety of sports fields and event and neighbourhood parks, some of which are home to exciting special events.

FestEvents! Penticton

FestEvents!Penticton is a newly formed non-profit society dedicated to sharing and coordinating resources to support festivals and events in the South Okanagan. 

Monthly meetings will resume in September 2010 and the next AGM will be held in Spring 2011.  Find out how this organization can support your event.

Below is a list of some of Penticton's beautiful parks.

Major Event Parks

Gyro Park

Location - Located on Lakeshore Drive between Martin Street & Main Street

Gyro park is both an event park and leisure recreation park.  During the summer months you can often find live entertainment or local festivals.  During the week, you will find boccia players as well as tourists and locals alike having picnics in the shade.

Okanagan Lake Park

Location – located on Lakeshore Drive just east of the Penticton Lakeside Resort.

Located on the shores of Okanagan Lake and near the downtown core, Okanagan Lake park hosts a variety of festivals and events May through October each year.

Minor Event Parks

Skaha Park

Location - located at Skaha Lake Rd & Parkview St

Outdoor fun for everyone! Located at the south end of Penticton, this 21 acre park offers a variety of year round recreational opportunities for everyone.

Features include one of BC's most beautiful sandy beaches.

Penticton Youth Park

Location - located on Riverside Drive

This skate park targeted for youth makes a great venue for borders, bikers and bladers. 

During the summer months, Skate board ambassadors are in the park monitoring for safety and safe use.

  • 30,000 square foot modern skateboard & bmx park
  • a variety of bowls, street features, ramps, stairs, rails, curbs with options for users of varying skill level

Rotary Park

Location – located on Lakeshore Drive, west of the Lakeside Resort.

  • Home of the famous giant Peach Concession

Marina Way

Location - Located on Marina way east of the Penticton Art Gallery

  • 4 acres incl beach
  • Power available
  • Xeriscape demonstration garden
  • Next door to Penticton Japanese Gardens
  • Picnic area
  • Beach access
  • Walking trail

Riverside Park Location – located on Lakeshore Drive - west of Lakeside Resort

Lakawana Park

Location – located on Power Street at Lakeshore Drive

Wedding Ceremony Parks

Rose Garden

Location - Located between the Sicamous and Loco Landing on Riverside Drive.

The rose garden is a beautiful location for a small garden wedding.  In the summer, the roses are in bloom creating a spectacular backdrop to your special day.

Rotary Centennial Pavilion

Location - located at Park (Skaha Lake Rd & Parkview St)

Skaha lake provides an amazing back drop for your lakeside wedding.  Imagine sunshine streaming through the trees, birds chirping and waves gently lapping the shores as you exchange your vows.
