The Penticton Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is located on Main Street in the center of the city.
The Detachment at present has fifty regular members amongst its various sections. The officer in charge of the Detachment is Inspector Brad Haugli.There are four general duty watches. Each watch consists of a Corporal in charge and six constables. The general duty watches hold the responsibility for first line policing within the boundaries of the Detachment. The general duty watches work a shift pattern of four days on and four days off. The members work 12 hour shifts consisting of two day shifts followed by two night shifts.

As well as the City of Penticton, general duty policing is also conducted in the surrounding communities of Kaleden, Naramata, Faulder, Okanagan Falls, Twin Lakes and the Apex Ski Resort. Policing services are also provided to the Penticton Indian Band.
The Detachment support services and general duty members provide back up services to Detachments in neighboring municipalities. |
