Committees & Boards

The City of Penticton has a number of committees and boards set up to provide feedback and guidance to Council. Terms of Reference, Agendas, Minutes, and details of each Committee and Board are made available on our website for your reference.

Advisory Committee and Board Structure

 

Council Committees Overview

Council may establish and appoint committees to consider or inquire into any matter and to report its findings and opinion to Council.

Council Committees do not have the authority to take action or incur expenses without Council’s approval. Council provides approval by way of a resolution passed at a meeting of Council.

Committee proceedings are outlined in "Council Procedure Bylaw 2018-35" which is available here. Committee Members shall appoint a Chair at the first meeting.

 All committees are open to the public to attend.

 

The following six (6) committees are active for the current year 2019:

- Agriculture Advisory Committee

- Arts, Creative and Cultural Innovations Advisory Committee

- Heritage and Museum Advisory Committee

- Economic Prosperity and Development Services Advisory Committee

- Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee

- Penticton Creek and Ellis Creek Restoration Select Committee

Opportunity to Apply

The City of Penticton is currently accepting applications for the following Committees:

Individuals interested in serving in a voluntary capacity for the 2019-2022 term are invited to submit an application which can be found by clicking on the provided link below or picked up at Reception, City Hall, 171 Main Street. Please submit your completed applications by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019.
