Bring Westjet to Penticton Flash Mob
Date: March 10, 2012 (12:00 PM - 1:30 PM)
Update: Click here to see YouTube video of WestJet Penticton Flash Mob - Send me on my Way
It's a flashmob! The City of Penticton invites you to show your support to bring Westjet service to the Penticton Regional Airport, by dancing your (warm!) socks off!
What's a flashmob? A group of people in a public place who suddenly begin dancing, singing or performing some type of random act. In our case, we're going to rush on to the tarmac and perform a dance to the Rusted Roots song “Send Me on My Way”, choreographed by Okanagan Dance Studios.
Check in at the north gate of the airport at noon, where you'll receive instructions and be taught the dance.
- wear warm clothes and comfy shoes, and try to make blue and/or green your outer layer, as these are the Westjet colours
- parking will be available along Airport Road, please watch for marshalls and do not block the roadway; parking is also available in the airport lot
- children must be accompanied by an adult
- no pets please, and no smoking anywhere on the airport tarmac (the “apron”)
Come rain or shine! The first 50 people to check in will receive $5 in Downtown Penticton dollars.
Please RSVP to the event on Facebook, and share it with your friends. Let's bring Westjet to Penticton! Don't forget to sign the petition on change.org, and fill out this survey from Imagine Penticton: Economic Development Services. See you at the ‘mob'.
