Fire Department Apparatus

The Fire Department maintains a large fleet of apparatus to assist with firefighting and rescue situations.

Ladder 202

Ladder 202 is housed at Station 202 and is a 2001 American Lafrance 75 foot Quint mounted on a Freightliner Chassis. This truck is equipped with a Hale 1750 two stage QMax pump and is powered with a 500 horse Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine. A response for this truck is generally to the large incidents or a large building, however, with a 300 gallon water tank on board it can manage the small fires as well.

Engine 201

This engine is located at Station 201 and is a 2013, Hub Engineered Triple Combination Pumper. It has a Spartan Gladiator Cab & Chassis with a Cummins ISX-450 engine. Engine 201 is equipped with a Hale Q2Max, 1750 two stage pump and has a 500 Imperial gallon water tank on board.

Engine 202 

This engine is a 2005 Hub Engineered Triple Combination CAFS Pumper, American Lafrance Eagle 134/Freightliner Chassis.  It is located at Station 202. The engine has a Hale Q-Max, single stage, 1500 lgpm, 600 Imperial gallon polypropylene water tank with a Hale CAFSPro, Pneumax PTO-Driven Compressor, 20 gallon class "A" and 30 gallon class "B" foam.

Engine 203

This engine is a 1999  Hub Engineered Triple Combination Pumper, American Lafrance Cab, Freightliner Chassis is the first-out pumper.  It is located at Station 201. The engine has a 1500 Lafrance, (Hale) two stage pump with a 600 gallon water tank with an Akron Class "A"  (10 gallon) and "B" (40 gallon) foam system.

Engine 204 (Training Engine)

This engine is a 1991 Anderson Engineered Triple Combination Pumper and is the second-out pumper.  It is located at Station 201. The engine carries 1200 gallons of water and is extremely useful at fires where there is an inadequate water supply.

Water Tender 201 

This 2009 Hub Engineered water tender with an International 7600 SFA 6X4 Cab and Chassis with a 750 Hale Q-PAK two stage pump and a 2500 IMP copoly water tank.  The Water Tender is mainly used for fighting grass fires and small structure fires in remote regions of our community. It is kept at Station 201.

Rescue 201

Rescue 201 is a 2015 Freightliner M2 Crew Cab and Chassis with a HUB built - walk around rescue body. This truck is first out for rescue from Station 201 and is the support vehicle for all structure fires. It is fully equipped to manage any rescue call from vehicle, to swiftwater, ice and high angle tower crane. The truck is powered by a 400hp Cummings ISL with 1000 LB/FT torque and Allison EVS 3000 Automatic with PTO.

Rescue 202

Rescue 202 is a 2003 Ford F550 Pro-Fire Rescue Truck and is the first-out rescue truck at Station 202. It goes to all First Responder calls within Penticton and is also sent to all regional rescue calls such as motor vehicle accidents where extrication is required. Rescue 202 carries auto extrication equipment such as Jaws of Life, rams and cutters.

Marine Rescue 201 

The Rescue Boat is used for all marine rescues and searches. It can be on the road in minutes as it is kept on a trailer at Station 202. It is used on both Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake.

Marine Rescue 202 & 203 

Penticton Fire operates two 2016 Yamaha Waverunners for marine rescue on Skaha Lake. These two Yamaha VX Cruiser HO are powered by a 4-cylinder, 4-stroke, 1.8 litre engine and a 155mm high output jet. With a rider capacity of 3 and a tow behind rescue sled, these units are quick to an incident and can manage multiple victims.

Bush 201

Bush 201 is a 2000 Ford F250 XL Super Duty extended cab 4 wheel drive. It is our tow vehicle for the Rescue Boat and is also equipped for fighting small grass fires.

Bush 202

Bush 202 is a 2015 Ford F-350 crew cab with a 6.2L, V8, 16 valve, 385HP engine with 405 LB/FT.  The truck carries 300 gallons of water, an onboard hale 250 gallon portable pump and is fully equipped to fight wildfire incidents.

Car 201

Car 201, a 2003 Ford Expedition 4WD, is the staff vehicle for the Deputy Fire Chief. It is equipped with radios, back-up inverters for recharging radio batteries and is used in the staging area at large fires.

Car 202

Car 202, a 2006 Ford Explorer 4X4, is the Fire Chief's vehicle. It is equipped with radios, back up inverters for recharging radio batteries and is used in the staging area at large fires.

Utility Pickup 202

Penticton Fire has a small 2003, GMC Sierra SL 1500, 2WD for support at any incident and for general purpose day to day operations.

Fire Prevention Units 202 and 203

Penticton Fire Department has two Inspector vehicles. A 2007 Ford F150 XL, 2WD pickup and a 2008 Ford Ranger pickup. Both are used by our Inspection Branch for day to day inspection activities, as well as incident support and fire investigation.

Pub Ed 201 

Pub Ed 201, a 1998 GMC, Safari, 8 passenger van, is affectionately called the Sparky Van. This vehicle is used at many fire prevention programs throughout Penticton. The van was sponsored by The Downtown Rotary Club, Knights of Pythias and Partners Program F.C.A.B.C. in 2001.
