Sign up for monthly e-bills and you could win!

Being kind to the environment just got easier for Penticton residents, as monthly e-bills are available for utility customers.

The City of Penticton invites Electric Utility customers to sign up for electronic bills, which arrive each month in PDF file format directly to the customer's email inbox.

“The City is proud to offer convenient services like e-bills for our residents. Customers asked for innovation, and we are pleased to deliver it,” said Mayor Garry Litke. “The more business conducted electronically means less waste in general. E-bills are a great way to take it easy on the environment and the pocketbook.”

To take advantage of the completely electronic system, customers need to register with MyCity by visiting and signing up for the service. Once they have created a MyCity account and successfully activated it, the customer needs to click on register an account and then select account type “Utility.” The customer enters the account code on the monthly bill and click “Register.” From there, click the registered account and then on the tab that says “eBills” on the side menu, and select desired method of delivery, mail or e-billing.

The City is holding a special promotion for customers eager to convert to e-bills. Those who register for monthly e-bills up until Feb. 28, 2015 will be automatically entered into monthly draws for prizes like Penticton Vees tickets, concert tickets and Community Centre passes – with the grand prize draw to win an iPad. The earlier you sign up, the more chances you have to win a prize. All existing e-bill customers will be entered to win.

The benefits don't just stop there. MyCity accounts also allow property owners to view property tax notices, once they have registered their tax folio number to the account. Those notices are archived online, allowing residents to view recent history or download the files to their own computers.
