Recreation Penticton keeps you moving

The Recreation Penticton Fall/Winter Recreation Guide is on its way to Penticton mailboxes on Aug. 19 and is chocked full of fun new programs, helpful fitness tips and articles on what’s happening in the community.

Given Penticton is a year-round outdoor recreation mecca, upcoming programs this fall and winter include a Kayak Wine Tour along the Naramata Bench, Eco Guided Snowshoe Tours as well as a Winter Survival course.

For those who would prefer the indoors, new fitness classes in partnership with Reflexions Yoga and Fitness include Yoga on a Roll, Stretch Roll and Relax and Core Fusion.  Of course, the ever popular Zumba is back with the beats and moves to get your heart rate up.  Looking to find your fitness match? Check out January’s promotion that includes cardio, yoga, stretching, meditation and dance classes all in one class for a free trial!

“This fall is the perfect time to try something new in the community. There’s been a lot of thoughtful programming that has something for everyone, so we hope people check out what Recreation Penticton has to offer,” said Mayor Andrew Jakubeit.

The Fitness Room has had a recent expansion to include more space, equipment and stretching area.  From Sept. 14-20, Fitness Room members can bring a friend for free. Not a member? Come with a friend and get 2-for-1 on your drop-in admission during that time.

Childminding hours have expanded to evening sessions and our new Kids Zone is a great place for kids 6- to 10-year-old ignite their imagination through fun games and activities while parents can enjoy a work out or run a few errands.

Active members enjoy early registration starting Aug. 14 and discounts on programs – so this is a great time to become a member.
