Real Acts of Caring Proclamation February 10-16, 2019
Grade eight French Immersion students from Summerland Middle School provided Council with an overview of the caring acts they have planned for Penticton and Summerland.
Mayor Vassilaki proclaimed February 10 – 16, 2019 as “Real Acts of Caring Week” in the City of Penticton.
Monday, February 18, 2019 Family Day Event Details - 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
In celebration of the 2019 BC Family Day, we have scheduled the following activities:
- All-Day Toonie Pool Admission at the Penticton Community Centre (10:00am-4:00pm)
- Skate with the Vees at the Okanagan Hockey Group Training Centre (OHS)
- Meet the Vees' new mascot, HARVEE
- Family skate at the SOEC
- Fun and Games on the SOEC plaza
- BBQ by donation on the SOEC plaza
- Complimentary hot chocolate and coffee provided by Starbucks Penticton
Emergency Support Services Grant Update and Recruitment
The City of Penticton is looking for volunteers to help with the Emergency Support Services (ESS) program. Penticton’s ESS team relies on volunteers whose aid is invaluable in responding to the 'people' needs in any emergency in our community. 2018 Economic Development Year in Review
Staff presented the 2018 Economic Development Year in Review Report. Council also heard from local business owners: Kerri Haybittle-Raffel, Manager, Penticton Airport; Cameron Betts, President, Betts Electric; and Sharon O’Connor, Founder, Classical Penticton Pilates.

February 20, 2019 - Senior's Drop in Centre 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
February 21, 2019 - Penticton Trade and Convention Centre 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
February 26 - 28, 2019 - Special Council Meetings - Budget Deliberations
March 19, 2019 - First, second and third reading to "2019-2023 Five Year Financial Plan Bylaw".
April 2, 2019 - Adopt "2019-2023 Five Year Financial Plan Bylaw".
Electric Utility Services Bylaw No. 2017-44
Council gave third reading as amended to “Electric Utility Services Bylaw No. 2017-44”, a bylaw that regulates the service area, provisions of service and electrical safety standards.
Greyhound Property – 303, 307, 313, 317 & 319 Ellis Street
Building Demolition & Parking Lot Construction
As the long term vision for use and redevelopment of the Greyhound property takes place over the coming years, Council supported the demolition and construction of a parking lot containing 55 parking stalls at 303, 307, 313, 317 & 319 Ellis Street. The parking lot will accommodate alternative forms of transportation such as electrical vehicles and bicycles with bike lockers and bike racks.
