Residents asked to look beyond books

Libraries have shifted from buildings that store books to community hubs that provide access to the information and tools needed to succeed in modern life.  To ensure Penticton’s service is keeping step with the changing needs of the community, the library is asking residents to complete a survey and share their feedback on the current and possible services of the library.

“The role of libraries is changing and we need to keep pace with the innovations in the service as well as the needs of the community,” says Chief Librarian Heather Buzzell. “We’re developing our plan for the future and we would like to hear from residents about the direction we should take.”

The survey will run from July 22 to August 11.  It can be completed online at Paper copies are provided at the library. Two versions of the survey are available for users and non-users. Anyone who completes a survey will be entered in a draw for one of three gift cards valued at $100 each. Results from the survey will be used to develop the 2019-2022 Strategic Plan.
