Proclamation “Real Acts of Caring” February 9-15, 2020
Council proclaimed February 9-15, 2020 as “Real Acts of Caring” week in the City of Penticton.
Penticton Elvis Festival 2021
Dave Martin provided Council with an update on the 2021 Penticton Elvis Festival and asked to have the festival at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
Council referred the request for $15,000 for the use of the South Okanagan Events Centre for the 2021 Elvis Festival to staff for more information.
Mid-Year Grant Request
Council approved an $1,080 cash grant to First Things First Okanagan.
Council Procedure Amendment Bylaw No. 2020-04
Council gave first, second and third reading to “Council Procedure Amendment Bylaw No. 2020-04”, a bylaw that allows for electronic participation at Committee meetings.
Indoor Tennis Facility
Council directed staff to postpone any further action on the funding and development of a new publicly funded indoor tennis facility, until completion of the Asset and Amenity Management Plan or if there is new information or funding model.
Memorandum of Understanding between the City and One Sky Community Resources in Support of Developing a New Childcare Facility on Kiwanis Park
Council directed the Mayor and Corporate Officer to execute the Memorandum of Understanding between the City and One Sky Community Resources, in support of developing a new childcare facility on Kiwanis Park.
Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2020-03
Re: 1500 Duncan Avenue East
The motion to adopt “Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2020-03” was defeated and Council closed and abandoned the Bylaw.
