Night work at Wade Avenue and Main Street scheduled to start
(Penticton BC – March 23, 2018) – Work involving a water main upgrade and sewer replacement is scheduled to be undertaken during nighttime hours starting March 25through to March 29 and again April 1 to April 5.
Bus transit will not be interrupted by the associated intersection closure, however motorists will need to plan an alternative route if crossing Main Street via Wade Avenue.
Business owners near the intersection, along with nearby residents and members of the public, are advised as follows:
- Scheduled work will be noisy and may cause vibration and dust
- Main Street will have open access at Wade Avenue only one way (will change from east to west for vehicle traffic based on work area)
- Buses will run through the Wade Avenue and Main Street intersection until 10:30pm
“The City of Penticton wishes to thank local businesses, residents and motorists for their patience during this phase of the 300 Block project”, said Design Supervisor, Tyler Figgitt”. By carrying out this work during nighttime hours, the daytime traffic and access impacts will be noticeably reduced.”
