Copies of identification uploaded to this site will be deleted as soon as they are reviewed and confirmed. Non-Resident Property Elector

To receive a Mail Ballot as a Non-Resident Property Owner, you will need to submit the following (It may be best to call Elections at 250-490-2473, or email us at election@penticton.ca so that we can walk you through what is necessary and provide a way to get this information to us): 
  • A document that shows you own the property for which you are voting.  Examples of acceptable proof of ownership documents are Certificate of Title, Property Tax Notice or Property Assessment Notice.  Photocopies are acceptable; original documents will not be returned to you. 
  • Two pieces of identification must be provided (copies only please, originals will not be returned) and will be destroyed once identity is confirmed. 
  • If you are not the sole owner of the property in question, then the majority of the registered owners must complete the Non-Resident Property Elector Consent Form
  • A form to register as a Non-Resident Property Elector 

Delivery of Package

I request that you provide me with a mail ballot package in the following way (select one option)
ID required: Individuals will be required to show identification to prove their identity; and fill out and sign a Form 11-3 [Declaration of Person Obtaining Mail Ballot on behalf of an Elector].
The last day to request a mail ballot be mailed to you is October 3rd. After this date, all mail ballots must be picked up at City Hall

Examples of acceptable documents include:
  • BC Drivers Licence
  • BC Identification Card
  • BC Care Card or BC Gold Care Card
  • BC Services Card with or without a photo
  • Vehicle insurance papers issued by ICBC
  • Social Insurance Number Card, or social insurance letter issued by Government of Canada
  • Citizenship Card issued by Government of Canada
  • Property tax notice
  • Credit card or debit card
  • Utility bill issued by Fortis, BC Hydro or the City of Penticton
If any of the following are used for ID, we will need another piece of ID with an address/signature: 
  • Birth certificate
  • Valid Canadian passport
  • Nexus Card
  • Firearms Licence
Provide identification that proves your identity and place of residence
