Are you planning to rent a vacation (short-term) rental while in Penticton? We welcome you to our quiet and safe neighbourhoods – and look to you to preserve that unique sense of peace. Please take note of these tips!
Sharing the street is essential. Please use the garage, driveway, or your assigned space. Be aware of parking signs and ensure you’re not blocking anyone’s driveway. You don’t want to spoil your holiday by having your car ticketed or towed.
Consider how you would want your neighbours to behave in your neighbourhood. Chances are your Penticton neighbours will expect the same during your stay.
Please note that amplified music is not allowed outside your short-term rental. Please do not bring your speakers outside. Your neighbours have the right to call the City if they are disturbed and this may involve bylaw officers or the police. For more information, you can visit our Bylaws page, call 250-490-2440 or email bylaw@penticton.ca.
Dogs must be on leash when outside the rental properties and dog parks. Tying up your dog in public spaces is discouraged as it causes stress to the animal and can be a safety concern for passers-by. A barking or whining dog is a noise concern.
Visit our Dogs page for further information about City bylaws and our Dogs in Parks page to track down off-leash areas.
Recycle your metal, paper and plastic products in the recycling bin. Non-refundable glass cannot be recycled with other items; set these aside. Beverage containers are refundable and can be taken to government liquor stores or recycling depots to collect your refund.
Exposed garbage is unsightly and may attract wildlife. Please use the designated collection containers. Waste collection service will pick up trash weekly and recycling every two weeks. Visit our Garbage & Recycling pages for more information.
