The City of Penticton offers many convenient methods to pay your utilities or property tax bill. Scroll through the sections below to find an option that works for you.
Pre-Authorized Payments
Note: Your account must be current to enrol.
- Variable Plan – Every month, on your due date, the City will initiate a withdrawal from the account of your choice for the amount owed on the account.
- Fixed Plan (Self-Managed Equal Payments) – Plan for your higher bill months by determining a fixed amount to be withdrawn each month on your due date.

Important Information
- This plan is a pre-payment plan, and runs from August 10 through May 10, with ten equal payments each month, and a final withdrawal on the due date which will be the last business day in July. There is no withdrawal during the month of June.
- If you qualify for the Home Owner Grant, it is important that you claim your grant before the property tax due date. On the due date, all outstanding taxes will be withdrawn, including amounts for unclaimed Home Owner Grants.
- The City of Penticton pays the property owner simple interest on pre-payments throughout the year. Interest is based on the City’s principal banker’s prime interest rate less 3%.
- If you sell your property, please ensure to cancel your participation in the pre-payment program.

Payment through your financial institution, either with their online or telephone banking services, is available for:
- City of Penticton Property Taxes
- City of Penticton Utility Bills
- City of Penticton Business Licenses
Registering Your Account for Online Banking (Taxes & Utilities):
- Log in to your financial institution online
- Go to Bill Payments
- Select Add a Payee
- Search for "Penticton" and select Taxes or Utilities
- For Property Taxes use your 8 digit folio/roll number (exclude the hyphen) as the account number. The folio/roll number is located on your Property Tax Notice. For Utilities use your 14 digit customer account number (exclude the hyphen) as your account number. This is located on your utility bill.
If you are unfamiliar with setting up online or telephone banking, representatives at your local branch are able to help. Ensure you bring your most current bill with you to the bank as they will need your city account information in order to assist you. If you are unable to find The City of Penticton as a payee you will need to contact your bank and they can assist you with setting it up.
Important
When paying through online or telephone banking, it can take three to five business days for the City to receive your payment. In order to ensure you do not incur unwanted penalties, please process your payment three to five business days in advance of the due date.
Paymentus is an independent third party service provider that will allow you to use your credit card through their secure online system to pay certain City billings. A link to the website for payments is provided below.
Paymentus will charge either a fixed or percentage-based service fee, dependent on the type of billing you are paying.
This is an online service only. Credit card payments cannot be processed in person at City Hall.
