H2Oh! The Amazing Story of Water

The H-2-Oh exhibit is in the R.N. Atkinson Temporary Gallery from October 2011 until March 2012. Visit today and explore the nature of water, its role in the environment, the history of its use in Penticton and how water is managed today. Kids of all ages are also encouraged to try out the museum's new Curator Kid Science Lab.

This is a historical photo from 1912 showing the network of irrigation flumes crisscrossing the bench lands above early Penticton. Until water was directed from Penticton Creek to these orchards farming was pretty much impossible due to the dry growing conditions in the valley. Photographer Unknown. PMA5614
