Policing & RCMP

The Penticton Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is located in the heart of the Peach City at 1168 Main St. We provide a comprehensive array of modern policing services all with a view to furthering our goal of "Safe homes and safe community." The Penticton Detachment is also the largest partner within the Penticton, South Okanagan, Similkameen Regional Police model. There currently are 57 sworn police officers and 24 support staff. These consist of both municipally and provincially funded resources.

We provide uniform general policing resources, major crime investigators, drug enforcement specialists, police service dogs, forensic identification specialists, traffic enforcement specialists and a community policing program. All of these police services are also supported by our invaluable local volunteer citizens who remain a critical partner in our success in preventing crime and solving crimes when they occur.

Superintendent Kevin Hewco is the current Officer in Charge of the Penticton Detachment.
