REVISED Settlement and Enhanced Marina Agreements

The City of Penticton and Trio Marine Group (Trio) have amended the agreements concerning the Skaha Marina development presented to Council on November 1, 2016 creating a REVISED Settlement Agreement and REVISED Enhanced Marina Agreement.

The section of the Settlement Agreement which allowed the City to conduct a public consultation process in 2019 to investigate a revenue generating Park Amenity has been removed. 

Mayor Jakubeit stated, The City and Trio heard from the public that there was still concern over the loss of green space  and we have taken steps to revise the agreements and address this issue.”

A new provision will allow the City, in 2019,  to work with the community on  a facility to renew or replace the existing concession and boathouse. Trio would be able to demolish the existing concession, return it to green space and then take up the same amount of green space to the west of the dragon boat storage building. The REVISED Settlement Agreement now specifically states that there  would be no net loss of green space or boat trailer parking.

There have also been some minor changes to the Enhanced Marina Agreement.  Reference to a Cold Beer and Wine store has been removed and some of the early dates in the Conditions Precedent Section have been pushed back two months.  These changes are reflected in the REVISED Enhanced Marina Agreement.

A Special Meeting of Council is schedule for 6 p.m. on Nov. 23 at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre to present the information to the public, receive comments and answer questions.
