Green Avenue and Skaha Lake Road Construction

Recent Letters to the Editor, correspondence and online discussions have raised questions about the work taking place at Green Avenue and Skaha Lake Road, as well as future plans for the corridor.

We understand residents care deeply about transportation, safety, emergency preparedness and how tax dollars are invested. The information below is intended to provide facts, clarify what is currently happening and explain how transportation decisions are made.

Construction Impacts to Emergency Response Times

Some residents have raised concerns that transportation improvements on roads such as Skaha Lake Road, Green Avenue, Warren Avenue, Fairview Road, Duncan Avenue West, Eckhardt Avenue and Westminster Avenue could affect traffic flow, emergency response times and evacuation capacity during emergencies such as wildfires.
