City of Penticton Council reviewed the draft budget during Special Council meetings held November 18–19, 2025. On December 17, 2025, Council completed deliberations and adopted the 2026–2030 Five-Year Financial Plan Bylaw, along with the accompanying 2026 – 2030 Financial and Corporate Business Plan.

Key Highlights
Strategic investments in public safety, infrastructure renewal, housing, and community amenities. Priorities include:
- Fire Hall Renewal and modernization of public safety infrastructure.
- Twin Pad Arena design and planning for future dry floor operations.
- Affordable housing initiatives leveraging City-owned land.
- Community safety investments: additional firefighters, Clean Team resources, a RCMP resource, and seasonal bylaw officers.
- Downtown Area Plan and KVR Trail Master Plan for improved livability and connectivity.

2026 Draft Budget Process
The 2026–2030 Draft Financial and Corporate Business Plan was publicly released on October 21, 2025.
Public engagement opportunities included shapeyourcitypenticton.ca, a Council-hosted Open House, and budget displays at City Hall and the Penticton Public Library. The engagement period ran from October 21 to November 5, 2025.
The City follows a multi-step process to develop its Financial and Corporate Business Plan. This process integrates Council priorities, departmental needs, and community input to prepare a fiscally responsible five-year plan. Significant effort has gone into ensuring the budget reflects both strategic goals and sound financial stewardship.
