Sport Courts & Amenities

Take the sports to the courts! Here are some of Penticton’s public sport courts available for use. Also visit our Recreation Facilities page for a list of sporting amenities including the Penticton Community Centre and McLaren Arena.

Beach Volleyball

You’ll find eight sand volleyball courts at Skaha Park (next to Skaha Lake), which often hosts Volleyball BC tournaments. One court is also available at Sudbury Beach

Basketball courts are located at:

Tennis

Few tennis courts have views quite as spectacular as those at Skaha Park. These courts are open to the public on a drop-in basis, boasting lake views in a peaceful, forested setting.

Here are Penticton’s four publicly available tennis courts:

  • Columbia Park, 1593 Hatfield Avenue
  • Lakawanna Park, 123 Power Street
  • McLaren Park, 1350 King Street
  • Skaha Park, 3701 Parkview Street

School District 67 has two courts with limited availability:

  • Penticton Secondary School, 158 Eckhardt Avenue East
  • Princess Margaret Secondary School, 120 Green Avenue West

Tennis Court Etiquette

To ensure that the tennis courts are enjoyed by everyone, your compliance with the following is appreciated:

  • Court use is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • When people are waiting to play, court time is limited to one set.  If not playing a set, rallying should not exceed 30 minutes.
  • In order to obtain a court, two people should wait while facing the desired court.

Pickleball

Pickleball courts at the Seniors' Drop-in Centre (2905 South Main Street) are available to the public during designated times only. Visit the Penticton Pickleball website for their play schedule. 

Pickleball Court Etiquette

  • Court use is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • When people are waiting to play, court time is limited to one game.
  • Singles should not be played if four people are waiting for the court.
  • In order to obtain a court, line up in groups of four.
  • Public play is permitted during designated times.
