Statement
Penticton – The following information is being shared regarding actions taken on August 1 at 377 Winnipeg Street, a known problem property in Penticton.
- Property owner served an order of possession of the property recently as tenants would not vacate.
- Bylaw, RCMP and PFD attended the property Aug 1, 2018 for inspection of the overall premises.
- The property continues to have Good Neighbor Bylaw issues and Fire and Life Safety Bylaw issues.
- One tenant remained inside the property but indicated they will be vacating soon.
- The enforcement partners have another inspection planned soon and will follow up.
- The City plans to board up the property once the tenant has vacated and arrange for a clean-up.
- Regular private security patrols have been arranged to mitigate issues around the property.
