Penticton– The City is taking advantage of multiple, overlapping events at the South Okanagan Events Centre this weekend to provide data for the parking study update now underway. Events are scheduled for a few of the main facilities on the complex bringing visitors from around the province and increasing traffic in the area.
“We’re taking advantage of this busy weekend to gather data around parking usage, traffic patterns and pedestrian habits during bigger events,” says Bregje Kozak, Recreation and Facilities Director. The City kicked off the update to the parking study last month with the release of a survey for visitors to the site and residents in the area. The survey has already received nearly 500 completions and will run until June 13. Results from the survey as well as preliminary findings from the study will be shared with the public at an open house planned for June 25 between 4 pm and 7 pm at the Convention Centre.
