Change of Pace film production – upcoming road closures

News Release

The filming of an all-Canadian motion picture titled Change of Pace is in full swing, with crews and cast spotted in locations across Penticton. The film, a coming-of-age story that pays homage to the 1980s, highlights iconic locations across the city and appreciates the charm and sense of community in Penticton. 

In order to feature these iconic locations, some closures of roads, parking lots and spaces, and trails are necessary. The film crew will notify affected residents by letter and signage. Please be aware that these times are estimated and subject to change according to the needs of the film production and activity. 

Please be aware of the following upcoming closures: 

Friday, October 9 7AM to Saturday October 17 7PM - Penticton Yacht Club – East Overflow Lot and Penticton Tennis Court Parking Lots 

Friday, October 9 7PM to Saturday October 10 4PM – Skaha Lake Park parking lots (South Beach Dr. and Parkview parking lots). 

Saturday, October 10 7AM – 4PM - West end of Skaha Lake Park, including walking paths 

Saturday, October 10 7AM- 12AM – parking from 499 -587 Vancouver Ave, 60 Cambie St. and Guernsey Ave 

Tuesday, October 13 7AM - 7PM - Kiwanis Walking Pier and Rotary Park parking lot 

Tuesday, October 13 6PM - 10PM – IGA Parking Lot (1160 Government St.) 

Wednesday, October 14 7AM - 7PM - KVR Trail - Intermittent closures from Vancouver Place entrance (KM 0) to Cemetery. Full closure from Cemetery to McCulloch Trestle Bridge. Drone usage. 

Wednesday, October 14 7AM - 7PM - Lakeview Cemetery Parking (Lower Bench Rd). Cemetery remains open for public visitors. 

Wednesday, October 14 7AM to Friday October 16 7PM - Skaha Lake Park parking lots (South Beach Dr., Parkview and west side of main parking lot at 124 Elm Avenue)  

Wednesday, October 14 7AM to Friday October 16 7PM - West end of Skaha Lake Park, including walking paths. Drone usage and some sound effects.
