City fire ban remains in place until further notice

Service Announcement

By order of the Fire Chief, the fire ban effective June 4, 2021, will continue with no open burning within the City of Penticton boundaries, including use of fire pits at both Skaha and Okanagan beaches. The ban will be in place until further notice due to the continued high risk of wildfires for our region.

It is important to note that the current fire danger rating continues to be extreme which indicates that fires will start easily, spread rapidly and challenge fire suppression efforts.

The City of Penticton thanks all residents for their cooperation.
