In March of this year, City Council made the decision to suspend all utility disconnections for non-payment until June 30. During its June 16 Meeting, Council reconsidered this decision and directed staff to begin resuming disconnection for non-payment beginning July 8, 2020.
Accounts that haven’t received any payments are being prioritized first for disconnection as a means of providing those customers who have been paying what they could during the business closures with additional time to catch up before being disconnected.
