The City’s Public Works crews will begin filling both municipal irrigation systems between April 13 and 24, 2026. This includes the Penticton Creek Irrigation System (Naramata Road area) and Ellis Creek Irrigation System (Valleyview Road area).
Please note that these dates are weather dependent and subject to change. Agricultural users and others with connections to these systems are encouraged to take appropriate precautions if they do not wish to have their private systems filled or pressurized at this time.
As part of ongoing upgrades, the City has been installing new blue irrigation service connections. Users with these new connections will find the system filled up to the gate valve located on the homeowner side of the service connection (as indicated by the arrow in the image below).
Once the City system is loaded and you require water, simply open your gate valve to fill your private system. Because new pressure reducing valves were installed with these upgraded connections, some users may require adjustments.
