A brief and informal summary of the latest decisions made by Penticton City Council. 

Delegations 
Council received a presentation from resident John Archer about the pickleball courts at Skaha Lake Park. 

Lease Agreement Renewal at SOEC for Interior Heath 
Council approved the renewal of the Lease Agreement with Interior Health Authority for a five-year term at the South Okanagan Events Centre to operate a cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation wellness program.

Municipal Grant Policy Update 
Council approved a new Municipal Grants Policy (CP#2025-04), replacing previous policies to streamline funding for non-profit organizations.

Civic Places & Spaces Project Update 
Council received the Civic Places & Spaces Project Update and directed staff to continue exploring commercial lease options for civic purposes in the downtown area.

Infrastructure Levy 
Council opted to postpone the motion regarding Infrastructure Levy to the September 16, 2025 Regular Council Meeting to allow staff to hold an open house explaining the infrastructure levy.

Urban Deer Update 
Council directed staff to report back with Terms of Reference and funding plans for an Urban Deer Advisory Committee.

Development Procedures and Delegation Bylaw No. 2025-19 
Council gave first, second, and third reading to Development Procedures and Delegation Bylaw No. 2025-19, an updated bylaw to further streamline development approvals. 

Development Variance Permit and Development Permit for 172 Green Avenue West
Council approved Development Variance Permit PL2024-9897 and Development Permit PL2024-9898 for 172 Green Avenue West, including variances for parking, lot coverage, and yard setbacks. 

Bylaws and Permits 
Council adopted Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2025-18 for 435 Green Avenue West and the City’s Road Closure Bylaw No. 2025-20.
