Day of Mourning ceremony taking place April 28 at Gyro Park

Service Announcement

The public is invited to attend the Day of Mourning ceremony on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, to remember those who have died or been injured on the job.

In 2025, 138 B.C. workers died from a workplace injury or disease. This event serves to honour those who have lost their lives or suffered an injury or illness due to their work, while recognizing the importance of committing to safe, healthy and inclusive workspaces for everyone.

The event will be held at Penticton’s Gyro Park Bandshell at 10 a.m.

Representatives from a variety of local organizations will speak and all members of the public are invited to attend.
