Downtown Community Market and free bike valet service return for the season

Service Announcement

Saturdays in downtown Penticton are set to get even busier starting May 16 with the return of the Downtown Community Market, showcasing more than 80 vendors.

This weekend also marks the return of the free bike valet service, operated by the City’s Environmental Outreach Ambassadors, offering a secure place to store bicycles, scooters and skateboards while exploring downtown. This service is provided every Saturday during the market, from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Drivers can expect increased foot and bike traffic throughout the downtown core and are reminded to plan ahead for road closures between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. Follow posted detour signage and anticipate limited parking and increased congestion.

The Downtown Community Market will operate on Main Street, Front Street and Backstreet Boulevard every Saturday until Sept. 5, 2026, adjacent to the Penticton Farmers’ Market. This market features handcrafted goods, local art, artisan foods, live music and entertainment. It’s hosted by the Downtown Penticton Business Improvement Association, with more information at downtownpenticton.org.

More information about the Penticton Farmers’ Market can be found at pentictonfarmersmarket.org.

Together, they attract thousands of visitors and span multiple blocks, offering locally grown and handmade products, gifts, entertainment and a variety of foods on offer.
