Construction along Eckhardt Avenue related to the infrastructure renewal and complete street upgrades will begin on Monday, Aug. 18. Crews will be closing a portion of the road with detours in effect.
Eckhardt Avenue will be closed 24 hours a day between Ellis Street and Gahan Avenue until the work is completed. Pedestrians may have sidewalk access as construction allows and should watch for any posted signage. Detours are available along Government Street to Wade Avenue E, Ellis Street and Main Street. A separate detour is available for large trucks traveling to and from Naramata via Vancouver and Westminster Avenues.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area, watch for signage and to follow the instructions of on-site traffic control personnel.
