Penticton – Community members and visitors will be heading to the South Okanagan Events Centre complex next weekend to dance to Abbamania, celebrate at Oktoberfest, rock with Foreigner, and cheer on players at the Vees games and Penticton Minor Hockey Group Atom Tournament. The City is raising awareness of the activity level so people can plan ahead and allow more time for travel to the events.
“The city is well known for hosting many events and it’s great to see so many big names coming into the community,” says Lori Mullin, Recreation and Culture Manager. “This is one of those weekends where we’re expecting the site will be very busy and we want people to be aware of the activity so they can allow more time and plan their travel options.”
An updated guide to the SOEC travel options is now available on penticton.ca and will be published in the Penticton Herald and the Penticton Western News. It highlights where people can park, what shuttles and transit services are available and estimated walking distances to the SOEC. Major events during the Oct 20 – 22nd weekend are:
