Families are invited to celebrate Family Day with a full menu of activities designed to spark joy, connection and play at the Penticton Community Centre and the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC) on Monday, February 16.
The Community Centre will be open from 10 am to 3 pm. The pool will be a hub of activity with the diving boards and waterslide open all day. Regular admission rates apply for pool access.
For those looking for activities outside the water, the gymnasium will host a free Family Day Games Zone. Families can also visit the arts and crafts stations and the photo booth for take‑home memories. New this year, is a calming free guided meditation program.
At the SOEC, hockey fans can take in the Penticton Vees game against the Prince George Cougars starting at 2 pm. Regular ticket rates apply, and youth 18 and under receive free admission thanks to Peter Bros Construction. Ticket details are available at pentictonvees.ca.
After the Vees game wraps up, fans are invited to stick around for a free post-game Skate with the Vees at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Fans planning to skate should leave their skates and helmets in their vehicles during the game, with re-entry beginning only after the final buzzer. The general public is also welcome to join the skate once the game concludes, at no cost. All participants must wear skates on the ice (no street shoes permitted), and no skate or helmet rentals will be available on site. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and liability waivers must be signed prior to skating.
The City of Penticton and the Penticton Vees look forward to welcoming families for a full day of fun, connection and community celebration.
