Feedback sought on draft Food Security Strategy

News Release

The City of Penticton is inviting residents to share their feedback on a draft Food Security Strategy.  Developed in conjunction with public input and stakeholder consultation over the past year, the plan outlines meaningful steps the City and community can take in support of a resilient food system and to ensure equitable food access to all residents.

A copy of the strategy and feedback form is available online at from now through to November 30.  Following the collection of feedback and the inclusion of any subsequent changes, the draft Food Security Strategy will be presented to Council for consideration and endorsement.

“This draft plan is reflective of the thoughtful process and hard work that went into the strategy’s development,” said Director of Development Services, Blake Laven. “The City acknowledges the helpful advice of the volunteer Food Security Working Group and the countless community members who contributed to the strategy and we’re now looking forward to receiving feedback on the draft from the broader community.”
