Have a safe Halloween

Service Announcement

For many Halloween is the most boo-tiful time of the year, with ghosts, goblins and fireworks marking All Hallow’s Eve.

The Penticton Fire Department also wants it to be a spook-tacularly safe time of the year as well.
So, the PFD is reminding residents that they must follow the bylaws that are in place when it comes to the use of fireworks.

Members of the community are also advised that the use of fireworks by untrained individuals may result in unnecessary injuries. This Halloween, teach children that fireworks are not toys and that they’re unsafe to pick up.

If found, children should leave fireworks on the ground and report them to an adult.

Please note, the Fire and Life Safety Bylaw requires anyone who wants to put on a firework display to obtain a permit from the Penticton Fire Department. It is illegal to sell, manufacture or discharge fireworks without a permit.
