As 2020 comes to a close, Recreation Penticton will be offering modified program options in the New Year with the release of its Winter 2021 Recreation Guide, available to view online December 7.
“We have definitely overcome some challenges during the past few months with modifying our regular programming to align with Provincial Health Guidelines,” says Manager of Recreation, Arts & Culture, Kelsey Johnson. “Even with the challenges, the victory has been being able to provide safe fitness and wellness options for the community during a time when it’s needed most.”
The community will see familiar offerings in the recreation guide including Bugaboo Extras for tots and tykes, martial arts for children and youth, fitness classes for adults and public skating at McLaren Arena.
Winter recreation programs are set to begin the week of January 11, 2021. Staff will continue to monitor Provincial Health Orders and Guidelines and programs are subject to change to become in alignment.
“We encourage residents to regularly check our Return to Recreation web page on the City’s website for updated information regarding amenities and programs becoming available and other operational information.”
The Recreation Guide is available online December 7 (penticton.ca/recguide). Registration for programs open December 9 for residents and December 10 for non-residents and can be done online through the City’s website (penticton.ca/restartrec).
