Outdoor rink at Gyro Park opening soon for public skating

Service Announcement

The City of Penticton’s Facilities team is preparing the outdoor rink at Gyro Park, with plans to open it soon for public skating.

Due to unforeseen challenges, the City is postponing its plans to open on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, to ensure the ice meets safe operating standards.

An update will be provided as soon as it’s available, which will be posted to the City’s website and social media channels, as well as on-site signage.

The outdoor rink is located at 107 Martin Street, providing free outdoor skating opportunities. Once open for the season, access will be available for family skating and shinny hockey on alternating days, as weather permits. Schedule information will be posted online at penticton.ca/skating

The City reminds the public that ice skate rentals are not available for rent on-site. Please bring your own skates, helmets and safety equipment. Also, no shoes are allowed on the ice.

Thank you for your patience as the City completes final preparations.
