The City of Penticton will be conducting routine overnight sewer main flushing from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., beginning Sunday, Oct. 25 and continuing through Friday, Oct. 30 at 6 a.m.
This proactive maintenance is completed regularly to help protect the City's sewer infrastructure, maintain system reliability and reduce the risk of future blockages.
Work will take place along:
• Wade Ave.
• Winnipeg St.
• Martin St.
• South Main St.
To minimize impacts to daytime traffic, crews will work overnight and use rolling road closures.
Residents may notice some temporary noise from the flush truck as it moves through the area; however, crews will not remain in one location for an extended period.
Sewer main flushing uses high-pressure water to remove grease, dirt and sediment from pipes before they can create problems. During flushing operations, some residents may notice toilets gurgling or minor splashing. This is normal and temporary.
Thank you for your patience as crews complete this important maintenance to help keep Penticton's sewer system operating safely and reliably.
