The Penticton Community Centre is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its facility expansion and renovations that took place from 2009 to 2011 with an extra special treat for visitors to the facility on June 6, 2021.
“The Penticton Community Centre has been an extremely busy place over the last decade. During normal years we could see up to 300,000 visitors,” said Recreation Operations Supervisor, Kerry Wagner. “Over the last twelve months, while restrictions have meant that we have had to limit our offerings, we have continued to play an important role in the health of our community, wherever possible. While we can’t celebrate this milestone in person, we look forward to welcoming more and more participants back as the pandemic restrictions are lifted.”
The Penticton Community Centre expansion saw the facility upgraded to now include: 10-lane, 25-metre-square lap pool; leisure pool with a lazy river, spray features and waterslide; whirlpool, sauna and steam rooms; fitness room, multi-purpose program rooms, fitness and recreational classes; and gymnasium, dance studio and the Cleland Theatre.
As a thank you and recognition of the many patrons who continue to visit the Community Centre, Recreation Penticton will be entering visitors who come for a pool or fitness room reservation on June 6, 2021 into a draw to win a gift card to the Community Centre.
“We thank our loyal patrons who have supported the centre over the past ten years and longer.”
