Penticton celebrates National Volunteer Week with free breakfast

News Release

The City of Penticton is inviting volunteers to attend a complimentary breakfast this Saturday, May 3, 2025, to celebrate the conclusion of National Volunteer Week.

The event is taking place at Rotary Park, 185 Lakeshore Dr., from 8-10 a.m.  and offered to volunteers from throughout the Okanagan-Similkameen communities.

“On behalf of Council, I would like to thank everyone who takes time out of their busy lives and volunteers in our community,” said Penticton Mayor Julius Bloomfield.  “Volunteers are the backbone of our community who support local not-for-profits, service clubs, festivals or events. Community volunteers go above and beyond to improve the circumstances and way of life in Penticton.  We are so much better off thanks to their work, and we are always grateful for, and in constant need of, their commitment to help others.”

RSVPs are required. To reserve your spot, email the SOS Volunteer Centre at info@volunteercentre.info or call 1-888-576-5661. The first 100 attendees will receive a gift bag from the event sponsors and local businesses.

National Volunteer Week runs April 28 to May 3, with the theme being Volunteers Make Waves.

The SOS Volunteer Centre encourages people to visit their newly refreshed website at www.volunteercentre.info to learn more about what we do, browse current volunteer opportunities, sign up as a volunteer or register their organization as a member.
