Postings reflect focus on Council priorities

The posting for two senior leadership positions at the City are now open.

“These postings represent a slight reorganization to better align with the priorities that have been established by Council,” says City manager Anthony Haddad. “The changes will bring an even sharper focus to community safety and creating attainable and affordable housing. These steps allow us to continue to provide exceptional service to the public, maintain our service levels and look at ways to improve Penticton. ”

The Director of Public Safety and Partnerships is a new position and will build on current service delivery models and in line with the City’s Public Safety Framework enhance program integration and effectiveness while identifying and implementing new initiatives that reflect an innovative and progressive approach to public safety. The Director will excel at building relationships within the community and at both the Provincial and Federal levels. 

The City is proposing to reallocate funding for economic development to support this position, and reposition the economic development function within Development Services to continue with resident and labour attraction initiatives and support our business community 

The Director of Community Services will be primarily responsible for the performance of the Recreation, Facilities, and Land Management functions, and provides leadership for many of the City’s strategic initiatives and community partnerships. The Director of Community Services manages several contracts including Travel Penticton and Oak View Group 360 (SOEC / PTCC / Memorial Arena). This is an existing position that was vacated with the appointment of Anthony Haddad as the city manager.
