With the return to school, the City of Penticton is reminding local youth aged 24 and under about the opportunity to sign up for a free 2025 bus pass.
The U24 Transit Pass is available to those between the ages of 13 and 24 and will be valid until Dec. 31, 2025. Those who wish to continue their passes in 2026 will have the opportunity to apply again in the new year, with more details to come closer to the date.
The pass is valid for travel only on Penticton travel routes, with the reminder that children age 12 and under always ride for free.
Youth or caregivers can register for the pass at any of the following locations:
- The Ooknakane Friendship Centre – 146 Ellis Street
- Foundry Penticton – 501 Main Street
- Penticton Public Library – 785 Main Street
- Penticton Community Centre – 325 Power Street
- Penticton City Hall – 171 Main Street
Registrants will be required to provide proof of ID including a driver's licence, passport, birth certificate, student ID card or school enrolment/registration documents. More information is available online at penticton.ca/transit.
Funding for the pilot project comes from a three-year grant from the federal government’s Building Safer Communities, provided to the City of Penticton.
