Skaha Lake Park boat launch closed May 16 to 18

Service Announcement

Temporary repairs to the Skaha Lake Park boat launch means it will be closed May 16 to 18 and users will need to find an alternative launch site during the closure.

The City of Penticton is undertaking these temporary repairs so that the boat launch can be used safely this summer before being replaced in the fall.

Temporary repairs will see an excavator pull a large pile of spoil back into the existing ramp to fill the large void that currently exists.

The work is necessary to prevent damage to boats and trailers at the public launch, as propeller wash caused by boat engines have eroded the end of the launch and creating a large drop off and subsequently causing damage to trailers.

Alternative launches for Skaha Lake can be found in Kaleden and Okanagan Falls.
