Special Meeting of Council scheduled for Friday, January 8

Penticton City Council is scheduled to meet this coming Friday to give direction on two matters that require attention prior to Council’s next Regular Meeting, set for January 19.

On Friday, staff are seeking from Council:

  • direction to prepare a letter of support from the City for the Brain Injury Society’s grant application to the Government of British Columbia’s Community Housing Fund for the purchase of the remainder of the land available at 2509 South Main Street and for the project; and
  • direction to submit an application for grant funding for Penticton Creek Flood Mitigation: Reach 3AU/ 3B and Structure 3 and 4 through the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure - Adaptation, Resilience and Disaster Mitigation program.

“Members of the public interested in watching Council’s deliberations concerning both these topics can do so by watching the Council broadcast streamed live on the City’s website, starting at 1pm”, said the City of Penticton’s Corporate Officer, Angie Collison.
